The time clause in the second sentence is not in the simple present tense. I chanced upon this sentence when I was browsing some forum replies. Have I overlooked anything from a grammatical point of view about future tenses that are not used in time clauses?

Here are two websites in connection with the time clauses of English grammar:

1. http://www.grammar-quizzes.com/8-5.html
2. http://www.e-grammar.org/time-clauses/

Thank you.

Best wishes,

Hi Bhikku,

The second sentence indicates what will take place in the future. It is not the best worded example in the world, because I tried to stay close to the original poster's message, but 'will be' has to be used there, because the information has not yet been provided.
The leave record will be provided tomorrow.
The leave record will be provided by next week.
The leave record will be provided by the end of the day.

Hello Beeesneees,

Actually, I meant the Adverb clause of time or Time clause or Subordinate clause or Dependent clause in the second sentence—“when I will update the sheet accordingly”. As far as I know, English grammar forbids the usage of the future tense in the Adverb clause of time or Time clause. This time, I hope that my message will not be misconstrued.

Sorry Bhikku,

I still don't see the problem.
The leave record will be provided by tomorrow morning, and when it is I will update the salary sheet.
