Cu Lao Dung is a beautiful place in Vietnam. There are a lot of mountain and sea scenery. Most of people are friendly, hospitable and honest. Looking at this map, An Thanh Nam commune looks like a convex polygon which has uneven edges. This commune has about 5.000 households. The life of people meets with a lot of difficult problems, such as slow economic development, difficult ocean traffic and the low standard of life. Furthermore, a lot of lands catch alum, and become exhausted. Substructure is poor, and the industry and trade develop slowly. Consequences, they live by plenty of different works, such as catching fishes, planning forest and exploiting seafood, especially producing agriculture. They usually plant rice, canes, coconut-palm, maize, sweet potato and fruit-tree. They still feed pigs, beeves and chickens. Beside, An Thanh Nam commune is next to the large sea, and has five dikes. Therefore, they develop seafood and aquaculture, such as shrimps and fishes. For these reasons they are still dependent of weather and climate. If climate changes, it will bring a lot of difficulties to this village. For instance, if it is not rain, they will be deprived of water to irrigate land and crops. Moreover, if storms occur, there are many areas to sink in sea. These problems will bring about bad effects to people, plants and animals.
All in all, I hope that in the future An Thanh Nam commune will be developing more and more, and people will become richer and more comfortable.
