I just heard this phrase on the Simpsons, that flummoxed me a tad:

I know you're discouraged but don't deny the world your fat can.
(The premise was that Homer wiggled his naked fat butt to cheer a crowd but it didn't go over big with the crowd, so as a result he was left discouraged)

Can I rephrase it this way "don't deny the world your fat is capable of"? Or is there a better interpretation?

Thanks!

Your fat can = your fat backside/buttocks (very informal, as you might expect from 'The Simpsons'!)

@RickyRocky - 'buttocks' is plural because you have two! (bottom cheeks) You can also speak about one buttock.

@Tort - :D

These two, "flummoxed" and "tad", don't make sense.
"a lot" should be used instead of "a tad".

Hi,

This means 'confused me a bit.'

according to my dictionary

to flummox means

to confuse someone completely
to confuse someone so much

To bewilder someone or confuse them greatly, yes... but there are still degrees of confusion within that.

The usage makes perfect sense.

'flummoxed me a tad/a little'
indicates less confusion than 'flummoxed me considerably/a lot/a great deal'.
