That’s a new one on me! I looked it up in the Urban (slang) Dictionary (by the way, it’s amazing what you can find there – do normal people actually use all these terms? It’s another language altogether!). It says, among other things (some of them downright rude!), that this expression means:
See you later, goodbye and, as a verb, to leave and to kill.
Many thanks in advance for any comments on the extent of its use.
Since all vowels are short in Spanish, the wrong pronunciation of these sounds in English often leads to all sorts of confusing or comical situations. So, be careful to pronounce a long ‘i’ sound in ‘peace’ :) .
Isn’t this also a lesson of life’s intricacies: an Iraqi girl teaching some of us a locution with the word ‘peace’?
