Some people hold that advertisements should be restricted. Do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, more and more people desire to escape from the city centre (there is no specific city), not only because (because of) some average reasons like traffic congestion, but also due to the overspreaded advertisement which sticked (sticks) almost everywhere (I think this sentence is too long and doesn't make sense, you can replace it with shorter sentence). This trend, it seems, erode (erodes or is eroding) the urban body and spirit in a visible pathway, that's why I agree with the point by some people that advertisement should be curbed.
Although, advertising industry bring a huge mount of tax and other revenue to government like the rent fees for public space which is currently used to put the promotional products, but ('although' sentence)a lot of budget cost to maintaining it at the same time. In addition, commercials on TV create a more efficient progress to audience to decide which latest or better-looking goods to buy while a (an) artwork of ADs that providing the funny stuff or surprise in those content. However, people can also receive these kind of indications by other ways, for instance, printing the up-to-the-minutes goods list for publics. And civilians face many sorts of entertainment not only restricted in advertising as a whole.
Furthermore, the ubiquitous advertisements outdoor pose a threat to limited public space and former places for plants. Specifically, one and other curtains of products blind people against the landscape that full of flowers and plants, people even feel that their right of a better living standard has been robbed while commercial pictures emerge in both interior of transportation and exterior of buildings. Except the necessary on restricting the amount and space of advertisement, it's content also also need to meet a more stringent terms and conditions before publication. For instance, the companies tend to choose more violent and sexual words and images in a piece of advertising, on a attractive purpose. As a result, this even dirty information give youngster a negative influence immediately while the curious children might draw on the actions from it indiscriminately, which may drive up the criminal rate of juveniles.
All in all, I personally think, the disadvantages overwhelm the advantages in terms of the increasing development of adverting expansion which now appeared in everywhere and in every mode. Be considerate the risk on public life's standard and effects on adolescents, I insist that advertising should be restricted. |
