Topic: People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
There are many different reasons for people to attend college or university. I believe that the three most common reasons are to prepare for their career, to have new experiences and to increase their knowledge. Career preparation is the primary reason for people to go to college or university. At college, they will have the chance to learn new skills and keep up with new technology. Therefore, they become more competitive in the job market. They are also able to receive a letter of recommendation from their professor, which will make them easier to find a good job. People always have a strong desire for learning. Consequently, many people attend college or university to increase their knowledge. Deciding what they want to study, pursuing their studies and interacting with their classmates and their professors, all of which help students learn more about themselves. Besides, with the variety of subjects at colleges and universities, students can gain knowledge from different sources. This will not only help them in their career but also help them in their future life. When students attend to college or university, they have the chance to have new experiences in a different city. They will meet a lot of people from many places, with different habits and different characteristics. They will learn how to make adult decisions because they must be on their own. These experiences will make students become more independent and more confident. Colleges and universities offer much more than better career preparation. They offer the opportunities to improve your knowledge and get new experiences. For these reasons, more and more people decide to attend college or university.
