Hi,
as an English learner, I've been wondering myself why none of the native speakers use the voice recorder. I think it would help us learners to get to know various English dialects. Also, it would motivate others to use the feature as well. Perhaps many people think, "If not even the native speakers and teachers use the voice recorder, why should we?"

Hi Claudia,
Thanks for supporting me on this. It's a point I have made several times in the past but it is always followed by an awful silence. I wonder what the reason for the reticence is. Apart from anything else it makes me feel very isolated like a lone voice in the wilderness. Got any suggestions as to who you'd like to hear? Meantime I suppose I'll keep rabbiting on!

Hi everyone,
This is Aiken. I am also an English learner. I really want to hear voices from Bees and MM. They write good English and what is more I would want to hear how they speak. =]

Beees: The old Captain. There are other examples on the site too.
The reasons why I don't make more use of the voice recorder: 1. My internet connection speed. 2. My main computer's lack of ability to cope quickly with Java. 3. I have one mike and I post from three separate computers. 4. It takes at least 3 times as long to post a single reply. 5. Me! _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Hi,
I think there is an analogy to be drawn between the first talkies and the reluctance of some of our contributors refusing to speak on the forum. Maybe they should watch and listen to this:

Hi Alan,
We are sometimes too shy to come up with some ideas and so. Now I am trying to overcome my shyness.
I have an idea to develop something like a bridge between some native people and some other people from all over the world, who are learning English, and my schoolchildren.
This is a part of the project that I and my children are working on. Would you (and some other natives and some other foreigners like Claudia and Mujibur and others) mind sending to them one or a couple of voice messages right here on this very Forum?
I think children would be very happy to send their own voice messages to you (through my login, of course). For them this would be a very goog opportunity to overcome some kind of barrier which prevents them from talking to foreigners.
Best regards,
