how to pronounce the adjectives ending in - ed? #1 (permalink) Tue Mar 01, 2011 10:01 am   how to pronounce the adjectives ending in - ed?

Hi,

It's Mai Tram from VN. I need your help with English pronunciation. And here is my question.

- Is there a different rule of pronunciations between the regular verbs in the past simple with -ed and the adjectives ending in -ed?

Verb Adjectives

Examples: loved /'lʌvd/ beloved /bɪˈlʌvɪd/
looked /lʊk/ naked / ˈneɪkɪd /
but refused /rɪˈfjuːzd / confused / kənˈfjuːzd /

- I am confused. Please, give me some more explanation. Thank you.
