(advantage and examples?) Do you prefer to have friends who are similar to you or different from you?
In my opinion, selection of friends depends on the nature of the person. Many people like to have friends who has a similar nature while others choose friends who has a different nature, both views having different advantages. Also, I prefer to have both types of friends, and in this essay I will enumerate some of the advantages on both views.
There are lots of advantages to having friends who are different from you. They can give you a knowledge and information of new things in which you are weak. For instance, in the foreign country if you have native friends then they can easily help you to introduce their culture, food or the language. Moreover, someone who is different from you can show different ways of looking at things. For example, if you like to entertain yourself by watching movie than a person who likes to play sports, can inspire you to play games, which is good for entertainment as well as for health. In the same way, if you are careless and not punctual then active person can help you to improve your qualities. However a friend with same taste will not encourage you to try something new.
On the other hand, there is time when you need similar nature friends who really understands you, and with those people you feel comfortable and can share your sorrow and happy moments easily. Also, sometime you feel tiered to do things which you do not like most so at that time you need a person with same hobbies for fun and enjoyment. For example, whenever I feel bad or exhausted from my day to day activity then I used to visit any place with my old school friends and after communication with them I feel more relaxed.
For my part, I will enjoy having both kinds of friends - those who is similar to me and who is different from me, to make my life more interesting and balancing.
