It is often not a good thing to move to a new city or a new country because of the loss of old friends.
With the rapid development and progress of society and technology, there are increasing numbers of people who concern about whether it’s good to move to a new country but lose contact with old friends. Some people assert that people can gain many benefits when they move to a new environment, while others have negative attitude toward this idea. Despite many diversified opinions aired by different people based on their own experience, there can be no doubt that moving to a new country can bring many advantages and people can still maintain friendship with old friends.

The first thing I want to put forward is that people nowadays have many chances to move to a new city for various reasons. However, people wouldn’t lose touch with their friends due to the convenient public transportation and the ubiquitous internet. Take my own experience as an example, I moved to a big city in order to find more well-paid jobs. During this period of time, I can chat or have a video call with my intimate friends on the internet. What’s more, it’s an easy task for me to take a high-speed rail to visit my old friends on the weekend. That’s why I am greatly convinced that people wouldn’t lose their friendship while they move to a new city.

The other thing worth mentioning is that many aspects of our life will benefit from moving to a new place. Moving can help individual to explore a suitable place for him and interact with diverse people around the world. What’s more, learning distinctive cultures and interesting histories from different countries not only broaden our globe horizons, it also provide opportunities for us to make new friends. There is no gainsaying that moving to a new environment can bring more advantages to us than living in the same place.

Admittedly, sometimes it’s good to live in the same place where people may have many close friends and they can have many chances to chat face to face. Since people familiar with surrounding area, they can have a stable life than others who moving out of their hometown. However, I insist that people who moving to a new place wouldn’t regret later due to the numerous benefits it would bring about.

Taking all aspects into account, I believe that people would gain many advantages after moving to a new city. That’s not to say, of course, others points of view are without merit. However, I hold that the reasons I have provided in favor of my standpoints are stronger.
