Old people knowledge vs young people knowledge #1 (permalink) Tue Mar 08, 2011 16:56 pm   Old people knowledge vs young people knowledge

Do you think that only older people have knowledge? Or do young people also have important knowledge?

Modern technologies and mentality changed the world significantly. It transformed the working and living style of the people then it was decades ago. Therefore, I do agree with the statement that not only old people have knowledge but young people do have important knowledge. In this essay I will enumerate some important points which support my point of view.

First, although old people have good knowledge of culture and traditions but they have lack of knowledge of modern technology and processes. The whole world is changing and becoming technology oriented and in this sector old generation is far behind and young generation is well advanced than them. Modern computer and other electronic equipments are far advanced and making day to day activities faster and easier, which young people are well aware of and old people does not. For example my mother in low is well educated and knows cultural and traditional processes. Like mailing a letter, she knows how to write a good letter and port it to post office but she is not fully aware about the new electronic emails via internet using computers which young people are using on daily basis.

Furthermore, it is true that young people have lack of experiences than old people, but it is also correct that young generation is exposed of various source of knowledge which the older people may have missed in their time period. . That’s why I think that sometime their suggestions or recommendations does not work for youth because of change in situation and time. For example, elders always want more involvement of young guys into their family but sometime it’s impossible for youngsters because of education or career responsibility.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that there are many things which we can learn from old generation but change is the rule of thumb, and young generation is fully aware of it and forefront of the era and possess updated knowledge according to the current time circumstances , which old generation is lacking.
