(Exercise vs. studying.) Should exercise be a mandatory part of the school day?

An exercise is an activity performed in order to develop or maintain physical fitness or overall health and I believe for students it is important because researchers are finding that brain activities and brain developments are enhanced by physical exercise. Although in many schools giving academic knowledge is at higher priority but I think exercise is also important part of education for any child. In this essay I will enumerate some points which will support my view.

First, for student daily exercise is necessary for heath purpose. Recent studies show that in many countries stress is the biggest challenge for many children. And exercise is the tool which can reduce the stress of studies or pressure of competition. Thus, if schools teach or motivate student to do exercise everyday for their physical health then it can not only improve individual's health but it cure and prevent from many diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. In addition, student's brain required more energy to be active in whole day and for active brain exercises plays a crucial role.

Furthermore, students can be more active by playing some sports games, which is also an alternative option of exercise with fun, but many education systems avoid sports, because they believe that it can divert students from studies. But in reality sports are beneficial from many perspectives such as for vitality, to improve social aspects or games spirit to play in groups, and also can teach them how to reach up to the goal or how to defeat their opponent. So sports not only encourage students towards health but they can make their favorite game as a profession.

Finally, child age is more delicate and growing age so whatever you teach them, they adopt it very fast and the impact of that thing will remain for long period of time. So, if in school they understand the importance of doing exercise regularly then it may become their habit because in young age its very difficult to encourage for exercise.

In conclusion, although providing subjects knowledge is first preference in many schools but I think they should give attention towards exercise also because it helps to improve physical, social and emotional aspects of students and to prepare for better future.
