Hi,

I have heard the phrase 'rumours has it that...', but is 'history has it that...' correct? For example:

History has it that Egypt was a very rich country in culture (meaning 'Egypt's culture was very rich)

Thank you very much.

Hi,

This construction works all right and suggests 'according to history ...' Another example: Rumour has it that ... suggests 'according to rumour ..'
