The flourishING development in modern society has brought about a great improvement in educational systemS. Today, there are more and more parents paying attention to the quality of a childhood education in terms of children’s study as well as their extracurricular lives. What is the best way for children to spend their time outside class? Educational expert claims that children should study and play; whereas, some parents suggest that doing some household chores in spare time would be good for children. As far as I am concerned, I would like to vote the latter on as getting involved with household chores in leisure time seems to be more favorable for children’s growth in many aspects.
First of all, household chores, as a kind of extra education, can teach children important life skills that can't be learned in school. These practical skills, such as cooking and cleaning, will practically prepare children for their future independent lives. Take myself as a bad example, at the time when I studied aboard for my bachelor degree in Australia, poorly cooking skills really brought me a lot of inconvenience, and it even affected my health because I often just made instant noodles for meals. When I was suffering from the distasteful dishes I made, one thing came into my mind; that is, if I become a mother one day, I will definitely let my child more involved with household chores in spare time and teach hIM/her more practical life skills like cooking.
Besides, more significantly, household chores can bring about a good relationship between parents and children for the reason it is THAT such interactive activities for parents and children HELP THEM to cooperate with each other. Considerably, the preparation before dinner as well as the cleaning up after dinner could be good family activities for the children to join in with their parents. As assistants to their parents, helping to set up the dinner table, getting the ingredients ready for cooking or washing dishes after dinner, all give the younger generation an opportunity to work on tasks with their parents as a team. This mutual experience can help them establish a good tactFUL understanding with their parents. The more they participate with household working the more they will understand the hardships of their parents, and realize how precious the time they spend with their parents IS.
To sum up, doing household chores is beneficial for children’s extracurricular lives from two different perspectives: it can on PROVIDE practical knowledge in terms of life skills to children as well as IT can improve relationship between children and parents. Taking into account of all these factors, we may I reach TO the conclusion that children should help with household chores. _________________ Just a confused kid... trying to live through twists & turns of life!
