Harry told that he had been to Africa and that it was very charming.
I think it's 'told that'. It should be 'told me that' or 'say that'.

Hi,

You are right. 'Tell' needs an object. The most common way of introducing a statement is to use 'say'. Look at these: He told them that he was going to Africa/He said that he was going to Africa.
