I've tried and tried, and I can't think of an equivalent expression in English. You can probably translate it word for word as "Sports are murder", and we'd understand it fine. Maybe you could also say, "Sports are agony." (Note that I'm American, and we usually say "sports" and seldom say "sport". I think the British would probably say, "Sport is...")
Another thing to remember:
Mord = murder M?rder = murderer
Sorry I can't help more. Maybe Alan has an idea. |

Hi Rita and Jamie,
How about Sport might kill you or Sport kills? As for Alan, he is on a trip through Europe and will be back soon.

Those are also good suggestions. I especially like "Sport kills." (Here we would probably say, "Sports kill.") |

Well, what springs to my mind is no sports no fun which would actually be the opposite of the initial expression. Maybe, no sports no stress is what you are looking for? Let's what Jamie has to say...

| I asked a German here who has the best feeling for English of any German I know personally, and the first translation he blurted out was "Sports kill." I think that's the one to go with. |
