Hi Taras,

You need to use shall here to indicate a future sense. You cannot use am with wait because it would have to be I am waiting.

Can I use will instead of shall when taking exam?

I will simply wait until she comes back.

Or is "I will/we will" used only in spoken English and will be a mistake on exam?

.
Yes, 'will' will be fine. In fact, I would be surprised to find that 'will/shall' is still tested-- it is a use that is fading away
