qualified as an/a IELTS/ TOEFL® teacher?

I was asked to handle an IELTS and a TOEFL classes but I refused.

What should be the qualities that a teacher should have to be qualified as an/a IELTS/ TOEFL teacher??

First of all you should know how the tests work. What are they for? Why do the students need them?

Then what I usually do is create a needs analysis with the student(s) you are tutoring and address the grammar and vocabulary points during the preparation for the Test. There are loads of really good TOEIC and TOEFL and IELTS preparation coursebooks out there as well as Vocabulary books.

I suggest you have a look on the ETS website and Cambridge and research the exams. I learned by doing and teaching the exams.
