What you're thining of is street gutters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_gutter
Potholes are defects of a road usually caused by weather (rain/sun) and use. _________________ If it's not easy, don't do it!

| Sorry, my bad. Let me rephrase. If it's not on the roadsides but on the roads itself, is there a word for it? The road surface which aren't as steep as potholes but still accumulate water after rain. |

Possibly dips, channels or slopes.
(Incidentally, these are also the terms used to describe deliberate adjustments in the road surface designed to stop such surface water build-up!) _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Road dips? Can it be used as a noun? |

It can be used as a noun. Your example looks like a plain old 'flooded area of road' to me, but it could also be described as 'a flood in a very large road dip'. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Okay. Thanks Beeesneees.
If you're free, would you help me check my grammatical errors in my sentence? >>> 'The areas of road surface which aren't as steep as potholes but still accumulate water after rain.'
Thanks. |

Sounds okay, RickyRocky. Potholes are usually described as 'deep' rather than 'steep' though. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

| 'trial' vs 'court hearing'? | 'So to speak' versus 'As it were' |
