Hi,

Is there a word that describe 'The area that accumulates water on road sides'?

As we know, road surfaces aren't flat, and some slightly deeper areas would accumulate water after rain if the drainage system in that area is bad.

I thought of the word 'potholes', but I think it's not that accurate.

Help me out, anyone?

It's been raining a lot here recently. ;)
Cheers,
RR.

What you're thining of is street gutters.

Potholes are defects of a road usually caused by weather (rain/sun) and use.

Possibly the gutter, kerbside or drains.

Sorry, my bad. Let me rephrase. If it's not on the roadsides but on the roads itself, is there a word for it? The road surface which aren't as steep as potholes but still accumulate water after rain.

Possibly dips, channels or slopes.

(Incidentally, these are also the terms used to describe deliberate adjustments in the road surface designed to stop such surface water build-up!)

Road dips?
Can it be used as a noun?

It can be used as a noun. Your example looks like a plain old 'flooded area of road' to me, but it could also be described as 'a flood in a very large road dip'.

Okay. Thanks Beeesneees.

If you're free, would you help me check my grammatical errors in my sentence?

Sounds okay, RickyRocky. Potholes are usually described as 'deep' rather than 'steep' though.
