The best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers' salaries

With the rapid develop of society, more and more people start to realize the importance of education. Many people believe that the best way to improve the quality of education is to increase the salaries of teacher. However, I think there must be better ways.

It is undeniable that higher salary will attract more talented people to become teachers. But the increase of the total number of teacher doesn’t guarantee better education quality. It is possible that some people want to take teaching as their job only because of the good money. And the quality level will even be brought down if too many people who only care about money flood into the field of education.

Therefore, rather than give raise to all the teachers, the government should put its effort on how to train good teachers. Teacher should know their subjects well, but knowing how to communicate with their students, and guide them to acquire the knowledge efficiently is even more crucial. It is not surprising that a math teacher who can solve a complex mathematic puzzle in no time fails to attract his students to focus on his lecture. If the government can finance the training programs for teachers like public lecturing, child psychology, the education quality will also be improved.

Moreover, the government should also finance schools with up-to-date equipments. By doing so, teachers will be able to use more ways to make their class more attracting and vivid, like multi-media, internet, than just reading textbooks to them. Also students will have chance to do experiments, in which way they can prove what they have learn and explore the charm of knowledge.

In conclusion, I think increase teachers’ salaries is not the best way to increase the education quality. Support the training programs for teachers and finance the schools with better equipments will contribute more to that goal.
