Who vs. whose Thu Mar 30, 2006 22:00 pm  Who vs. whose

Dear Taimy,

Whose brings a sense of onwership, possession.

This guy has a car. His car is in the garage.
Putting the two sentences together.

This is the guy whose car is in the garage.

whose is reffering to car. (the object of the sentence)

Now, let's look at a different situation:

This is the guy. The guy has a car.
Putting the two sentences together:

This is the guy who has a car.

who is reffering to "The guy". (The subject of the sentence)
I hope this helps!
