Please correct the mistakes

People whose ancestors fought for their independence have chosen a system which doesn't allow any other people in any other country to be independent as well.

It is more than awful to hear that somebody's death will decrease crude oil prices for a few dollars.

The devil is the CEO, seems to me.

Thanks

The phrase 'as well' is quite awkward here. Since it's confusing what 'as well' actually refers to, I'd just remove it.

It is more than awful to hear that somebody's death will decrease crude oil prices for by a few dollars.

The devil is the CEO, (it) seems to me.
This would be OK without the word 'it' in casual conversation.
