if they are not careful with their accounts, their business will go...
A. poor
B. bankrupt
C. penniless
D. broken

the correct answer is B.
It's correct because the word "accounts", right, I guess so?!

Would you help me to clear the mean of those words?
Please~

Hi,

With reference to money the first three words mean:

'poor' suggests not having much money and is the opposite of 'rich'.

'bankrupt' suggests that by law you can no longer pay the money you owe.

'penniless' is a graphic way of saying that you have no money at all - not one penny.

'broken' is the past participle of 'break' suggesting that something is destroyed or

doesn't work.
