Do advertisements sell?

DO ADVERTISEMENTS SELL?

A) Are we victims of false advertising? Give examples.
B) Should there be more control of the content of some adverts? (ex. nudity, using children, etc.)
C) Do you think there should be a T.V. channel for adverts and the others be uninterrupted? Why?

Of course advertisements sell. Almost everybody buy products that they have seen them in ads before. The world of Publicity and Marketing is very important to the business. Everybody has TV,s and radios in their homes. People spend much of their leisure time watching TV and listening the radio. That is why media is so important to the companies in order to increase their sales.

Ads try to capture the attention of the audience and that is the reason why in many ads we can see beautiful women and handsome men showing us the product. Many of these people are celebrities and they want us believe that if we buy that product we will look like to them. Most of these ads contain false advertising but we must not let them deceive us and we have to buy only the products we need.

From my point of view there are ads that they should be broadcasted in a different schedule. Children usually go to bed before 10:00 pm on weekdays. They often watch TV after leaving school. I have watched ads on TV at evening that I do not think they are suitable for children because they have images of naked people.

On the other hand I think that there are a lot of ads on TV. I totally agree with the idea of having only channels for advertising. I do not mind too much whether private channels broadcast ads in their schedule because for them it is a source of incomes. But it annoys me a lot that public channels that we pay taxes for them, they are broadcasting lots of ads in the middle of any film.

To sum up, Media world try to encourage people to buy more. The companies pay huge amounts of money to marketing companies every year because they know that is the best way to sell more.
