There are different opinions about whether it is important to know about events happening around the world even if it is unlikely that they affect your daily life. Some people might disagree that it is necessary to be concerned with events not related to my life. However, I firmly believe that we pay attention to outside happens of my daily life for two reasons. Firstly, we can prepare future’s happening. Secondly, we can have opportunities to help others.
To begin with, when we are concerned with happening around the world, we can deal well with same situations. As it were, knowledge about various events can guard us from serious accidents. For example, my country is placed in a safe area from the earthquake. Thus, most of people are not sensible when it comes to the earthquake. Moreover, a lot of buildings have not been built as following an earthquake-resistant design. By the way, Japan, nearby my country, has experienced a huge earthquake a few months ago. This accident left thousands of people dead or injured, and damaged a substantial amount of infrastructures. We got great shocked from this disaster, which made the government to enact a law related to the earthquake-resistant design. Though this accident happened outside of my country, all people greatly realized the importance of the earthquake-resistant design. As it appears of this example, we should know about events happening around the world for preparing for the worst.
In addition, many people can have chances to aid the poor in the world. This is because many people want to practice love for mankind, and as hearing information out of the countries, they can assist others. For instance, we heard tragic news from Africa. Countless people, especially children, are starving from poor harvest in the Africa. After getting this news, my family and I determined to help them because we really wanted to help them who are our neighbors. Thus, we requested World Vision to find people we can help. A few days later, we could get a letter with a photo of a boy, and we sent some money to help him without reluctance. All of this is possible because of news. If we could not have chance to hear news outside of my country, we would not help the African boy. Therefore, this proves that as getting interests about happening around the world, we can become a better person.
To sum up, without any doubts, I strongly believe that we should know about various events that occur from all over the world even if they are not relevant to my daily life for following reasons. First, information from outside of own country make us to handle unexpected events well. Second. It gives opportunities to become a good man as helping others.
