Topic: Some people think children should be brought up in the villages because of the good environment. Meanwhile, some people think the young children should be brought up in cities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Essay:
Have you ever answered a question like, “What do you think is the best place to raise your children?” Maybe you, like other people, would choose either a city or a village, since whether living in a city or countryside, provincial children and city ones can enjoy their own benefits.
Firstly, living in a village, children would take advantages of a healthy living environment. When comparing the living environment of a countryside to that of a crowded city, we can easily recognize the fact that a countryside’s living environment is superior to that of a city in terms of air, food, water, and atmosphere. Unlike city children, who have to suffer strident noises from building sites or horns from vehicles like cars and polluted air and water every day, rural ones can enjoy a tranquil surrounding environment, breath a fresh air, and eat fresh vegetable. Hence, there is no doubt that village children not the city ones will lead a better heath.
However, a village is inferior to a city when education and living standard are taken into consideration. It goes without saying that the city is wealthier and more developed than the rural area, leading to the fact that the education and infrastructure are better focused on by the local authorities. Schools with modern facilities like computers, laboratories, libraries, recreational centers, to name but a few, along with excellent professional teachers who are very knowledgeable and qualified in teaching students are more prevalent and popular in big cities than in outskirts. Hence, children living in cities are better educated and thereby have more chances to obtain a good job than those living in villages.
Moreover, city children can develop more thoroughly and comprehensively than rural ones, since they can make use of very developed and modern infrastructures, including museums, parks, zoos, concerts, halls, cinemas, and stadiums. They also can acquire much knowledge and gain lots of experience when participating in events, going to ceremonies, or visiting art galleries, which are often held in the city center not in the rural area.
Last but not least, it would be a big shortcoming when we have not mentioned the media and the Internet, which are more prevalent in cities than villages, bringing/bestowing upon children colossal opportunities to be updated to every single aspects of life such as economy, finance, politic, or even astronomy and archeology.
In conclusion, the children in the village can have a better living environment and those in the city can have a better education and entertainment facilities. However, in my opinion, the living life in a city or a village will have/bring its true meaning if children know how to take its advantages and avoid disadvantages to lead a healthy and comprehensible life.
