Hi again! I've got another vocabulary question concerning a verb found in this TOEIC exercise: TOEIC listening part III, set 17, exercise 6

Although I got the answer correct (!), I have no idea what "Top a competitor's price" means! I've looked up "To top" in Babylon and Onelook and am still in doubt. As said in the text, the supplier will "beat those prices". Using intuition, the sentence means that the supplier reduces the price they currently sell the printing paper for so that it is less than the price charged by the competitor. The woman fetches a good price in the end. Is it correct?

To top/beat a competiror's prices means simply to offer better (lower) prices than the competitor does.
