Hi,

The fact that sponges move so slowly, if at all, means that they cannot avoid being eaten.

when "if at all" can be used while speaking?

Hi,
He would complete the ascent of the mountain with extreme difficulty, if at all. "You won`t make many friends with that attitude - if any at all"
"If at all" indicates that the desired outcome may not be achievable How are your pieces related to one another, if at all? ...If at all possible, I'd like to receive an extra copy of the book. That's a word I rarely hear, if at all.
