Because life is getting more difficult, parents are becoming more careful about their children and trying to make them grow in right way in order to make them ready for the harsh sides of life. In nurturing a child, one of controversial point is that either child should be implemented to be competitive or to be co-operative. In my opinion, from the earlier ages, child should be taught to work in groups and helped to improve his/her skills on it. I will expand my views as follows:
First of all, there are more disadvantages doing tasks alone and being competitive so much than its advantages. One of its results may be aggressiveness. For instance, in individual competition, although being zealous to win, it brings anger and stress. Additionally, it would cause lack of confidence if a player loses a lot. Besides, we do not live alone in society, so we have to be accustomed to working in groups. Some people in society cannot reconcile with people in groups because, from childhood they were nurtured as being competitive. However, one of this advantage is that person will always be motivated for the goal and will not give up. Moreover, collaborating makes every task simpler. This will reduce time and work too. While thinking on one problem by group, everyone will be able to share their thoughts, so there will be alternative options for the problem. Additionally, you can learn from these group discussions too.
To put them in a nutshell, although there are some advantages of being competitive, in my opinion, children should be raised as collaborative persons.
