What is the predicate in this sentence? #1 (permalink) Tue Jun 21, 2011 18:32 pm   What is the predicate in this sentence?

Jared and Bob both ran quickly to catch the bus.

Is the predicate "rank quickly" or "both ran"?

I think it is "ran quickly" because this statement gives more information about the subject.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I wonder if "quickly to catch the buss" is an adverb of manner.

Thanks
