Hello,

There is a grammatical mistake in the first sentence of this test question. I think the sentence should read "I like my house to be clean and orderly" instead. Could you please look into this matter?

Thank you.

Best wishes,

Thank you, Bhikku.

I've made that change and a few others in that test. (For example, corrected 'everyday' to 'every day' in question 8.)

I should add that some Americans say 'I like for (something) to + infinitive' commonly at an informal level.

You meant the trend, Mr. M.? Because the given sentence would change its meaning without 'be':clean house(North American English)'to remove people or things that are not necessary or wanted'.

I don't understand what you are talking about, Eugene. 'I like for my house to be clean' is common at an informal level, with the meaning 'I like my house clean'. It has nothing to do with the slang 'to clean house'.

I feel I need to bring an apology, Mr.M., for my inattentive reading. I like for my breakfast to be hot, They like for their kits to be ironed in advance,.. How about 'want' with the pattern?
Regards.
