Hello,

Can a boss say to his overly impetuous worker:

Yours is not to argue with me, yours is to take in what I'm saying.
meaning "you shouldn't argue, you should take in what I'm saying"

It is correct but doesn't sound natural.

You should not argue with me. You ought to take in what I'm saying.
It's not your role to argue with me. Your role is to take in what I'm saying.

The 'Boss' would need a course in modern workplace communications if he were to speak like that though.
