It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations. --------------------------- Rate, comment and help me improve :) ------------------------ It is not possible for and individual nation to make all the necessary efforts to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we want to protect the world’s energy resources for forthcoming generation. In the discussion I will put my arguments in favor of the statement. I strongly believe that, to conserve the energy natural resources, integrity among countries worldwide is necessary. It is very unrealistic and unfair to believe that an individual nation can make sufficient efforts to save and conserve the precious natural resources in the era of globalization. It is very obvious, like people, every nation will put their own interest and welfare at the first place. We can’t expect a nation to do sacrifices to conserve the resources while others are not ready to do the same.
For e.g. USA is one of the major energy consuming country. An average US household consumes 19 times more energy that a household in an emerging country like China and India. So it is not possible for a single nation like India and China keep trying to accumulate energy sources and other country keep overwhelming more and more energy sources. This situation will never be able to conserve the energy resources for upcoming generation.
It becomes very essential to have an international leadership and worldwide cooperation which can put all the nation together to protect energy resources. OPEC(Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) is one of the best examples which brings the stability and harmony to the oil market by adjusting the oil output to keep balance between supply and demands.
Moreover if all the nations don’t work together and keep thinking about their selves, then a developed nation with limited resources will plunder resources from the developing nations for the future purpose. Worst case is the fight for resource may turn out into a severe war. The US and Iraq war should be considered to understand the weightiness of the damage this issue can cause.
While concluding, I believe it is very fair if nation put their development issue on the first place. With this situation there is a crucial requirement of an international leadership that will put all the nation work together for the conservation and preservation of precious energy resources for the future generation. |
