But I hope I can improve my English skills rapidly in order to
I'm a Vietnamese, it's a medium sized country in the south of China. And I lived in Hanoi, the second-biggest city and the capital of Vietnam, I hope I can learn English in the best way and especially learning new things about your countries because i love all civilizations, all cultures, learning all the new things from them and I found that English is the best key at the moment for me to transform my wish to reality.
Of course, in my way, I always need your helps and together we can build up a new world more beautiful by devastating all barriers. And the hardest barrier is language wall.

Being an english speaking country, most of the people here know how to speak the language already. my problem is that I don't have the confident to speak, that's why I joined here. Hello Kitosdad,

Thank you for offering us English learners your kind help :) . I really appreciate it. Since you are English, I have a question for you. I've read an article regarding the Bank of England. It is said that the Bank of Engliand has a group called Mutilated ladies which deals with damaged bank notes. So long as there's something to identify the money, the group will give it back to their owners. Is that real? Just out of curiosity. I read that from a book named <<New Concept English>> which was written by L.G Alexander. Many thanks! Please let me know if you find any mistakes or any sentences don't sound nature in my post.

Mutilated Ladies. ( Ladies, meaning the Queens head.) #1347 (permalink) Sat Mar 07, 2009 14:59 pm   Mutilated Ladies. ( Ladies, meaning the Queens head.)

Has it ever happened to you? Have you ever put your trousers in the washing machine and then remembered there was a large bank note in your back pocket? When you rescued your trousers, did you find the note was whiter than white? People who live in Britain needn’t despair when they make mistakes like this (and a lot of people do)! Fortunately for them, the Bank of England has a team called Mutilated Ladies which deals with claims from people who fed their money to a machine or to their dog. Dogs, it seems, love to chew up money!

A recent case concerns Jane Butlin whose fiancé, John, runs a successful furniture business. John had a very good day and put his wallet containing £3,000 into the microwave oven for safekeeping. Then he and Jane went horse-riding. When they got home, Jane cooked their dinner in the microwave oven and without realizing it, cooked her fiancé’s wallet as well. Imagine their dismay when they found a beautifully-cooked wallet and notes turned to ash! John went to see his bank manager who sent the remains of wallet and the money to the special department of the Band of England in Newcastle: the Mutilated Ladies! They examined the remains and John got all his money back. ‘So long as there’s something to identify, we will give people their money back,’ said a spokeswoman for the Band. ‘Last year, we paid £1.5m on 21,000 claims.’

Thank you for your correction, Bill. Yeah, that's exact the same article I've read before. What does this article sound to you? It was written along time ago, will some words of it sound a bit old fashioned? <<New Concept English>> series are very popular among Chinese students. As for me, I try to improve my writing skills by remembering the articles of that book series.
