My latest offering. I hope someone will attempt to record it.
Emma Jenkins carefully lowered her frail body into the comfortable chair that stood by the huge bay-window . She smiled ruefully to herself. What effort it took nowadays to even sit down. She sat back and allowed the chair to accomodate her frail frame. She so enjoyed these summer evenings just watching the children playing in the park opposite her home. How they enjoyed themselves! She dreaded the thought of winter evenings when the sun rose so late in the mornings and sank so early in the evenings. The street lighting, although adequate, was no substitute for the evening sunset. People were safely esconced in their homes and few braved whatever a winter evening brought weatherwise. She had no interest in television, preferring to read or dabble at trying to solve the days difficult crossword. Once she had almost completed one, and this had filled her with pride. She folded her wrinkled hands in her lap and surveyed the scene before her. The usual group of children playing their endless games, and young couples walking arm-in-arm. New parents proudly wheeling their offspring in new perambulators and occassionally stopping to accept the congratulations from well-wishers. Emma had never had a family of her own. She had been married, but her career was far more important to her than raising a houseful of children. Her husband, Albert, had died shortly after they had married, and this reinforced more than ever her wish to have no children. She had devoted her life to her career in the local branch of the bank, and over the years she had slowly risen to the top. She enjoyed a very comfortable lifestyle but had few friends. The passing years exacerbated this problem, and, as one by one her friends had died, she found herself isolated from all human contact. Now she sat alone, surrounded by her many expensive possessions and her lonliness overcame her. It had started to rain outside and the children ran to their homes. The streets were now almost empty of people. Emma leaned forward and lay her face against the cold glass. The tears flowed from her eyes as quickly as the rivulettes of rain running down the outside pane. It was a full three days before anyone noticed the old lady in the big house lying against the window pane.

Hello Aiken,
I appreciate you a lot for taking interest and reading out this excellent literary work of Kitos! To me Kitos is very close to the on-going life around him. He is very sympathetic to the octagenerians. His expressions are more than specimen studies of the generation passing now.
Though it’s an audacity on my part to comment on Kitos works, for the sake of English learning I dare to do it.
I would only raise an appeal to all the forum members to take part in the topic pages initiated by Kitos which might encourage him to make more valuable contributions here!
Best regards and thanks,
