Rape and war go hand in hand and what is also kept hidden is the amount of homosexuals in military ranks and it is often a magnet to promiscuous people.
The brown shirts for example were thought to be almost exclusively "gay" yet Hitler seen them as so much of a threat that they were his main targets in the Night of the long knives. Add to this the tension of battle etc and then of course the "spoils" of war.

When the Russians finally moved into the outskirts of Berlin the raping of German women was rampant and it was common for German people hiding in cellars to scold a young girl if she put up a fight to a lonely amorous Russian... Stop struggling or you will get us all in trouble..... was a common theme.

War in many ways can take us back to the stone age and primate like behaviour.

Peace(not war :-))
