Hello,

When..............(be/you) at 8.15 yesterday when you............(hear) the news?

Is this answer correct?

When were you at 8.15 yesterday when you hear the news?

Or: When were you at 8.15 yesterday when you were hearing the new?
But I know that sense verbs don't take (ing) at the end,and (hear) is a sense of verb as well as (smell, taste, look, feel)

Or When were you at 8.15 yesterday when you heard the news?

Which one is correct??

A really difficult example!!! wheew!!

Are you sure the question isn't "Where..............(be/you) at 8.15 yesterday ... "?

Neither is correct. You cannot use 'when' at the beginning.

Where were you at 8.15 yesterday when you heard the news?

No, sorry I made a mistake, I meant "where"..yes..

And why we made the verb "hear after "when" in past simple?

Shouldn't it be in "past progressive"?

No. Past simple is fine. We are speaking about one incidence of hearing the news which took place completely in the past and is now over.
