He likes country best.-shouldn't it be: He likes the country best. (the country- a kind of music) as in:
She loves the blues.?

Thanks..

He likes country (music) best.
She likes rock (music) best.
'Music' is assumed, there is no article asyou are speaking of the entire genre.

That specific genre of music takes a definite article.

She loves Blues music.
She loves the Blues.

There's not one firm rule.

Hi Beee,

Would be "best" in this sentence like when I say "the most"?

Further, I'd like to ask; is "country music" like "pop" .. or pop is something else ?
What I know that pop is a short for popular.

- Correct me if I'm wrong.

** I'd like the ( 15000 ) you did reach **
15000 helps you gave to us.
Thank you Beee..

Even "Thank you" is not enough.
