Hello, Yes, you're absolutely right. It should be I've been so busy. That is a typing mistake that I'll fix right away. As far as your answer goes, if you'd like an explanantion, here it is. For something small or of no great importance - such as a messy office - using a word like "forgive" is a little too strong. "Excuse" is much better and suitable. If you're talking about something more serious - like forgetting your wife's birthday, then "forgive" is more suitable. I hope that helps and thanks for pointing out the error. Linda

"Excuse" is used for minor offences. "Forgive" is used for more serious offences. "Absolve" is often used in a serious, more religious sense. For example, a priest can absolve you of your sins. It means to wipe away/cleanse/forgive sins. _________________ One Way of Learning English Grammar

Hello there.
I found this example: I have been writing a book for the past nine months.
On the same pattern I tryed my own examples:
I have been reading this book for the past four weeks. I have been thinking at this idea for the whole week. She has been looking after her neighbour’s children for the last year. The little girl has been playing with her doll for an hours. The living is empty but the CD player has been playing music for two hours.
Can a tutor tell me if the examples are ok or not? Thanks! |
