Hello Alan, Please review and rate.

Thanks,

Topic :

Many students choose to attend schools or universities outside their home countries. Why do some students study abroad? Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer.

Answer :

Studying abroad is not about packing bags and going on an adventure to a foreign country, but it is one way to shape your life for a better future. Studying abroad is an eye opener to the world; it’s the education one receives beyond the classroom walls. Some of the reasons for studying abroad can be for personal growth, career enhancements, and as a hobby.

Students who study abroad are benefited in many ways for their personal growth. Personal growth in language skills, intercultural differences, and living habits are some of them to look at. Students learn new languages, which can help them, better communicate with people in the country they are studying. Culture differences is another way students benefit by studying abroad. They learn about the culture and customs, get to know the true meaning of these cultures, which broadens their views. During their study period in a foreign country students have to change their living and eating habits. Staying in a dorm or with a family will be a complete unusual experience for them. In addition to staying, students have change their eating habits and adjust with the new taste of food. All these changes in a student’s life make them independent and a responsible person.

Career enhancement is another aspect in which the students who study abroad are benefited. The benefits most students receive are in terms of better job offers, better understanding of the different work culture, and respect earned in the society. Employers seeks students who have studied abroad, as these students have international knowledge in addition to the knowledge in the field they have studied. With these better jobs, students get a chance to travel to different parts of the world during their employment with a company. Working in different cultures is one more way students gain and learn about disciplines of office cultures. By working in foreign offices, students who have studied abroad learn diverse business tact’s and principles to expand these businesses. Having all these skills gained, the society looks at these students with respect, as these students are a value to the society.

Studying abroad can be a hobby for some students. It would be unfair to say, the students that come from their home countries to study abroad do not have good and reputed schools and universities. Some of these students have the desire to gain in-depth knowledge, learn about the foreign affairs, and like to travel. Not every country has interrogative classes; most foreign countries have discussions during their teaching in classrooms and by studying in such environments students get through information and live experiences. Another hobby could be to learn about foreign affairs. Foreign affairs itself is a vast subject and it cannot be understood by being in one’s own country. Hence students want to get abroad and get the complete understanding of foreign affairs. Furthermore, exploring different countries by actually visiting is what students like to do. After having read about foreign countries during early days of school, students want to get abroad and complete their education in addition to the excitement of traveling to these countries.

Studying in a different country than your home country can be an overwhelming experience if the above points are taken into consideration. Also, it’s not just about learning the language, following the laws & customs, and exploring a whole new world but it’s about being a responsible “foreigner” who would represent his or her country while in school or university.

wow... that's a pretty lenghty piece of writing Jura. If you have written all that in 30 mins I would say that you are a pretty fast writer/typist.
By the way, Alan {that's a little off-topic here} Do ESL use examples of conversations in the CBT, where the speakers tend to deliver their talks in a fast or rather inarticulate manner, as I came over a similar case during my preparation?

Rather well written essay if that was done in 30 minutes, is it not?

I only noticed a few places where it seemed a little off, but let's see till Alan has a chance to review it.

Some of the places that you must reconsider, according to me:
Quote:
Studying abroad is not about packing bags and going on an adventure to a foreign country, but it is one way to shape your life for a better future.
<< to shape a life for a better future? sounds a little awkward. maybe "prepare", or "provide a better future"
Quote:
which can help them, ( ???to communicate better) better communicate with people in the country they are studying

Quote:
Culture differences is another way students benefit by studying abroad
and some more
... dunno. Alan has the final word.

Hi jura,

I have made some changes in CAPITAL LETTERS:

Studying abroad is not about packing bags and going on an adventure to a foreign country, but it is one way to shape your life for a better future. Studying abroad is an eye opener to the world; it’s the education one receives beyond the classroom walls. Some of the reasons for studying abroad can be for personal growth, career enhancements, and as a hobby.

Students who study abroad are benefited/BENEFIT in many ways for their personal growth. Personal growth in language skills, intercultural differences, and living habits are some of them to look at. Students learn new languages, which can help them, better communicate/COMMINICATE BETTER with people in the country they are studying. Culture differences is another way students benefit by studying abroad. They learn about the culture and customs, get to know the true meaning of these cultures, which broadens their views. During their study period in a foreign country students have to change their living and eating habits. Staying in a dorm or with a family will be a complete/COMPLETELY unusual experience for them. In addition to staying, students have TO change their eating habits and adjust with /TO the new taste of food. All these changes in a student’s life make them INTO AN independent and a responsible person.

Career enhancement is another aspect in which the students who study abroad are benefited/BENEFIT The benefits most students receive are in terms of better job offers, better understanding of the different work culture, and respect earned in the/NO ARTICLE society. By working in foreign offices, students who have studied abroad learn diverse business tact’s/TACTICS and principles to expand these businesses. Having all these skills gained, the/NO ARTICLE society looks at these students with respect, as these students are a value to the/NO ARTICLE society.

Studying abroad can be a hobby for some students. It would be unfair to say the students that come from their home countries to study abroad do not have good and reputed/REPUTABLE schools and universities. Some of these students have the desire to gain in-depth knowledge, learn about the foreign affairs, and like to travel. Not every country has interrogative??? classes/QUESTION TIMES IN THEIR CLASSES; most foreign countries have discussions during their teaching in classrooms and by studying in such environments students get through/LEARN information and live experiences. Another hobby could be to learn about foreign affairs. Foreign affairs itself is a vast subject and it cannot be understood by being in one’s own country. Hence students want to get/GO abroad and get the/A complete understanding of foreign affairs. Furthermore, exploring different countries by actually visiting is what students like to do. After having read about foreign countries during THEIR early days of/ATschool, students want to get/GO abroad and complete their education in addition to the excitement of traveLling to these countries.

Studying in a different country/DIFFERENT FROM YOUR HOME COUNTRY than your home country can be an overwhelming experience if the above points are taken into consideration. Also, it’s not just about learning the language, following the laws & customs, and exploring a whole new world but it’s about being a responsible “foreigner” who would represent his or her/THEIR country while in school or university.

This is very good. Well done.

Alan
