Can I ommit "AND" in this sentence? #1 (permalink) Sat Apr 22, 2006 9:38 am   Can I ommit "AND" in this sentence?

Hello! Good morning!. This is quite a simple question, I am afraid, but I hesitate. Can I ommit "AND" in this sentence?. "All your life you?ve been getting up early, working very hard "AND" coming back home late at night..." I would like to say: "All your life you?ve been getting up early, working very hard, coming back home late at night...". Is it correct?. Thanks again!.

Hi Jesus,

To start with PLEASE do NOT be afraid of asking a question - all questions are useful.

You can omit the word and if you wish but it suggests that you are going to say something more because and really completes the list. If you are speaking and you mention all the things in your sentence and you omit/leave out and, the other person will expect you to say something in addition but of course you can stop there and cause some sort of effect.
