I think so, I certainly believe it has to do with benefits and bonus payments, but hopefully someone else can confirm it or not, because I don't know enough about football. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

I do believe you've cracked it, Beees, as ever. The following remark proves it well. "Total cost of the Spurs line-up tonight - just under £60m. Total cost of the Hearts line-up - around £250,000. Give Hearts £60m and Spurs' wage budget, then we'll give you a rematch." May I ask you once more on the topic (Spurs vs Hearts). It was twittered in advance of a return leg, on Spurs' home pitch, White Hart Lane: "I hope Spurs declare early at White Hart Lane, to allow Hearts a chance to bat." - What did the fellow mean? Thank you. |

He was making a joke by drawing on a cricket (impossible) analogy. Even I know such a thing can't happen in football! _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

| Oh, I got it now. A kind of a barbed joke that one, though. |
