1. 'let down' is always two words.

2. The word 'about' is missing from the text. Let down = disappointed

3. There wasn't much of a plot.

4. The film was as good as the media and press coverage indicated it was going to be.

1. I should have made it clearer and said 'let down' as a verb is always two words.
let down: verb - I felt let down by that.
letdown: noun - That was a big letdown!

2. I suppose that's just about acceptable too, but the correct standard preposition is 'from'.

1.How does the man feel the performance? - so in this question ,,about'' is omitted and reply to it is : 'let down' and not : 'letdown'?

2. How will the question be like which would have the reply:'letdown'?
thank you

1, yes.

2. You can't reasonably have 'letdown' as a single word answer to any question. The nearest I can get is the same question:
How does the man feel about the performance?
with the answer:
He thinks it was a letdown.
