What qualities are required of a good teacher?
Could you please take a look at my essay and then give it the mark? Thank you very much
Have you ever been to school? Do you think that your teachers should have some requisite qualities? My own point of view is that there are three important qualities to make a good teacher: passion, empathy and positive mental attitute.
Let us start by considering the fact that being passionate is an indispensable quality of a good teacher. With passion, teachers find their motiation to rise above difficulties and become better and better everyday. For example, whenever they feel tired of repeating to teach one lesson day after day, passion encourages them to search for more new and interesting information to enliven it, instead reluntantly continuing to remain the same. Every time they get sick of naughty students, passion does not allow them to give up but keep trying to make a change. It is passion that enable you to care about his student’s growth and development and then motivate and inspire them.
In addtion, empathy should also be included in requisite qualities as a good teacher. He needs to have the ability to bond with his students, to understand and resonate with their feelings and emotions and to communicate on their level. The distance between teachers and students should be narrowed. A good teacher is not only the one who teach students about knowledge, but also ought to be compassionate with them when they are down and to celebrate with them when they are up.
The last aspect to point out is that a good teacher is required to be optimistic. This means he has to always look on the bright side of things. When things get tough, a smile on his face can reduce the stress nd worry of his students, give them more hope and desire to keep going on the way they have chosen, therefore, make them feel more self-confident to succeed. So it is of great importance that a teacher should be able to seek to find the positives in every negative situation.
In conclusion, teacher’s responsibility asks him to teach his students, but it is his attitute toward this jod that decides whether he is a good teacher or not. I am convinced that these three qualities above are necessary for agood one. While a teacher’s passion helps to pursuit his job, the his empathy brings him and his students closer to one another and his positive attitute gives everyone around him more hope and desire to try harder.
