is it right to say ,you have already..' #1 (permalink) Fri Aug 19, 2011 16:46 pm   is it right to say ,you have already..'

Hi everyone,
I want to ask you, whether I can say: you have already slept for a long time. (for a long time in this case means a normal sleep)

the context is: A child sleeps and the father says that he should get up. The child gets up and answers his father ,,I want sleep?''. So the father: ,,you have already slept for a long time''

Hope you can help me :) I had already started working the lessons on this homepage over.

I believe the best way to put it is:
"You've (=have) been sleeping for a long time already."

The original suggestion:
You have already slept for a long time.
is perfectly acceptable and natural.
