Are these sentences correct:

1-This book is descriptive of him into his old age.
2-This book is a description of him into his old age.
3-This book describes him into his old age.
4-This book tells his life into his old age.

Do they mean that the book describes him as he was when he was old or that the book starts his life story before his old age and carries the biography on into the period when he is old?

All your sentences are grammatically correct. They mean that the book is a story of his life towards -- and not only of -- his last years. Your second suggestion is therefore the right one.
