QUESTION TAGS: You are telling lies. Isn't it true?

Hello! How are you? Oh my god! The weekend has ended! Well, five days to come again! Well, I just wanted to ask you something related to "Question tags"...

"You are telling lies. Isn?t it true?"
"You are telling lies, are you not?".

I would like to know if both mean the same.
First, I thought of "Isn?t it true?", but then
I realized I could use a question tag to mean
"I don?t belive him-her. I know he-she is
really telling lies". I think it?s better to use
the question tag, but Can I use the other
sentence: "Isn?t it true?" to mean the same?.

Hi Jesus,

Very briefly question tags follow this pattern: positive followed by negative/ negative followed by positive.

Some examples:

You do understand, don't you? When you ask this question, you expect the other person to agree that they understand.

You don't understand, do you? When you ask this question, you expect the other person to agree that they don't understand.

If you take a look at English Grammar Exercises and look at Elementary level Tests 29,30,31 Question Tags, you will see some tests I've written for the site. If you do these 3 tests, you may get some help in understanding Question Tags.
