| There is no voice message! You should record one and I would be more than happy to answer your thread :) |

Hello Lestat,
It's interesting that you have picked this name as your username. Is there a reason? Perhaps you have read some of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles? I've read many of her books so I'm just curious.

Is your microphone securely connected? Does it work with other programs? _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Yeah everything is connected properly. I am in a call right now with no trouble. It works with all the other programs I use. _________________ Come talk with us in the Listening, speaking, pronunciation and accent training section of the forum! |

That's very strange, I'm sorry but whenever I've come across a case where Java is properly installed so that you can see the 'record message' box the problem has always been with the microphone. In your case that's obviously not the solution though. Have you tried again to find out if it was some sort of 'technological glitch'? _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Could be that you've got more than one microphone in the system and the java applet picks the wrong one (a disengaged one for example). I've come across this encumberance many a time, so what I do now is disable all the microphones but the one I use and this does the trick. Just pull up the "volume control options" menu in the system tray and proceed to "recording devices", where you will be presented with a list of all the microphones on your PC. Then disable all except the one you use. _________________ If it's not easy, don't do it!

Well I've fixed it on my laptop. There was some issue with Java itself so I just re-installed it. Later I will have to look at desktop and see why it's not working there. It might be what Our Tort System suggested as I do have a headset microphone and a microphone on my camera. Perhaps they are having some conflict.
Thank you everyone for the help. I greatly appreciate it. _________________ Come talk with us in the Listening, speaking, pronunciation and accent training section of the forum! |

Okay, now to rerecord my original message.

Hi Xiaomuou you said you are curious about my name, well so do I , you know ,your user name "xiaomuou" is a Chinese pronounciation, the meaning is a puppet, I m confused how does that come about. As for my name, yeah, just like you guessed,Lestat is the Vampire Lestat in Anie Rice's series, but the reason I picked it is more than just a fond of vampire it's a long story to tell, including my innocent young days. I don't know if you have any idea of the Vampire Union, whose headquater is in London, I used to be a member of it ,and Lestat is such a nice name,is it not? that s why I use it as my English name for years |
