He wants to run for mayor in the next election.

2. Have you set a deadline for making a decision?= Have you assigned a deadline for making a decision?

3. and asking us if we'd consider a change.= we'd =would?
shouldn't it be:
and asking us if we considered a change (II cONDITIONAL).
in which cases can we use 'would' after if?

He wants to be president of the US one day.
He'll run for mayor.

asking us if we would think about a change > requesting us to consider a change.
