here = Used to draw attention to someone or something that has just arrived or to indicate one's role in a particular situation (Their role is to help). This examples does not indicate place. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

here = or? to indicate one's role in a particular situation (Their role is to help) -if this explanation doesn't include 'here' or 'in here', what is your point of submitting it?
thanks a lot |

I don't know what you mean, but will rephrase my earlier sentence slightly in the hope that it will help:
The word 'here' in the example you give has the following related definitions: Definition 1) it is used to draw attention to someone or something that has just arrived, Definition 2) it is used to indicate one's role in a particular situation.
In your example, of the two related definitions, definition 2 is the appropriate one. In your example, the word 'here' is used to indicate Conway Contractors' role in the situation. It highlights the fact that their role is to help. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

The preposition "in" indicates an area of containment e.g. "in here" (meaning for instance in a room, in which you are standing). ...... My book is in here somewhere.
The use of "here" on its own indicates only location. Yes, naturally you can also use it in the above ....... My book is here somewhere.
But remember that if there is a perception of movement (from one to another) "into" should be used. for instance,............. please pour the coffee "into" the cup.
